After photographing Alysha and Will’s candid at-home engagement session, I knew their wedding day would be something truly special. These two just have this effortless way about them. They are so natural together and so clearly meant for one another. One of my favorite parts of their engagement shoot was watching them bake their actual wedding cake in their kitchen. It was such a fun, playful session, and when I saw that same cake on their wedding day, it made the whole moment feel even more meaningful.

Their celebration took place at Gardiner House in Newport, Rhode Island, a newer wedding venue that is already becoming such a gem in the area. The boutique hotel offers stunning water views and the space is elegant and stylish. I loved the grand staircase, which set the perfect backdrop for their sweet first look. The wallpaper in the Gardiner ballroom featured soft green and pink tones that give the venue such a unique personality. Both the ceremony and reception spaces had amazing floor-to-ceiling windows that allowed all the natural light to flow in and invited guests to take in the scenic views. This gorgeous venue was a perfect match for Alysha and Will’s intimate, heartfelt day.

Thoughtful and Intentional Details

What stood out most to me about this wedding was how personal and intentional everything felt. Alysha poured her heart into the details, handcrafting so much of the décor herself with her Cricut. She created the menus and name cards to thoughtful touches throughout the reception. She even made pottery vases, each personalized with guests’ last names, so everyone left with a meaningful keepsake. The couple even made their own wedding bands in a workshop together. I just love how every detail seemed to carry a piece of their story.

Another aspect I loved was that their adorable dog was a part of the celebration! He came dressed to impress in his very own doggy tux. He was so happy to be included in their wedding photos and the ceremony.

And then there was the wedding cake. Watching Alysha and Will cut the cake they baked together during their engagement session was such a full-circle moment. The day ended exactly the way it began for these two, with laughter, love, and so much joy surrounding them.
