South Indian Wedding at DeCordova Museum

Meara and Rudi’s South Indian Wedding at DeCordova Museum was one where every detail, every tradition, and every fleeting glance carried a depth that you can feel long after the day is over. Their wedding was not only visually stunning, but deeply rooted in culture, family, and presence. From the excitement in Rudi’s face as he saw his bride, to the father of the groom’s traditional Polish bread, salt, and vodka toast, the day was filled with love, beautiful energy, and a deep meaning for what it means to be present.

A Wedding Rooted Tradition

Before their celebration at deCordova, Meara and Rudi began their wedding day at the bride’s childhood home, and it was nothing short of breathtaking. The space was transformed with vibrant florals in rich tones of orange, gold, yellow, and violet, creating an atmosphere that felt both joyful and rooted in tradition.

Family played such a central role in this day, and one of the most meaningful details was that Meara’s family built the ceremony structure themselves. It made the entire experience feel even more personal and intentional.

Guests were welcomed with an incredible spread of food, setting the tone for a day centered around community and togetherness, which is so integral to a traditional South Indian wedding celebration.

Meara and Rudi’s wedding beautifully blended cultures and traditions, reflecting both of their backgrounds and their shared story. Having already celebrated a wedding in Europe, as that is were the groom is from, this second celebration brought everything full circle by honoring family, heritage, and the life they’re building together.

Throughout the day, traditions were not only honored during the ceremony, but also thoughtfully incorporated into speeches, toasts, and quiet interactions between loved ones.

South Indian Wedding at deCordova Museum

The celebration continued at deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, one of the most unique and artistic wedding venues in Massachusetts.  The brick exterior of the museum covered in ivy provided the most beautiful backdrop for their wedding portraits.

Their reception took place inside a beautiful white tent with string lights and gorgeous light chandeliers decorating the ceiling. The poles holding the tent up were wrapped in greenery, which added to the beautiful design instead of taking away from it. White menus sat on orange napkins, while small vases holding single flowers, yellow glassware, and candlelight decorated the tablescape.

The florals and decor carried through seamlessly, with bold, colorful arrangements that felt alive against the clean, modern backdrop of the venue. Every detail was so thoughtfully curated and executed by the talented wedding planner, Kelly Elizabeth Events. I absolutely loved working with her!

While the details were stunning, what stood out most were the in-between moments that unfolded naturally. The way Rudi looked at Meara, full of excitement and admiration. The quiet exchanges between family members. The joy, the laughter, the emotion woven into every part of the day. These are the moments that define a wedding and tell the full story.

Meara and Rudi, your wedding was an absolute honor to capture. It was truly unforgettable. Congratulations to you both!
