There are some couples you meet and instantly feel their warmth and connection. That is exactly what happened when I first met Amelia and Chris. Documenting their story was an honor and I truly love this couple! Their coastal engagement session in Cape Cod was one for the record books as the couple took a boat ride on the water, which was so perfect for them.
They both love the water, and on top of that, this location holds deep meaning for Chris, as he and his family have been going there for years. That added layer of meaning and personal connection made this location so much more than just a beautiful Cape Cod backdrop.
Shortly after booking their wedding, Amelia and Chris found out they were expecting their first baby. What followed has been such a full and joyful chapter: an engagement session on the Cape, announcement photos, maternity portraits, and newborn moments. Next up is their wedding day, complete with a custom gown designed by a local Boston designer. It’s rare to be invited into so many milestones, and I don’t take that lightly. It has been such a privilege to capture this exciting season of life for them.
Coastal Engagement Session in Cape Cod
For their engagement session, we spent the evening along the water, letting the landscape guide us. The coastline stretched endlessly around us, soft light reflecting off the ocean in a way that felt almost cinematic. Knowing how much the water means to them, I intentionally leaned into those views. Incorporating drone imagery added another layer to their gallery. I just love how these images turned out! They added such a beautiful perspective on the location and knowing how much they love the water, I knew they would appreciate these shots. Beyond the gorgeous setting, what makes Amelia and Chris so special and this engagement session so memorable is them! They are such kind and genuine people.
Their Story
Their story began at the University of New Hampshire, where they shared a few business classes and quietly knew each other long before their first date. It wasn’t until senior year that they finally went out to a local brewery. Chris said that the moment they both ordered off the kids’ menu, he knew she was the one.
They started dating just before the world shut down in 2020, which meant their relationship grew in a slower, more intentional way. Cooking meals together, long walks, movie nights, and time spent getting to know each other’s families became the foundation of their connection.
When it came time to propose, Chris initially had plans for a big moment in Chicago after Amelia’s first marathon. He later decided to bring her back to an apple orchard near their home, where they had one of their earlier dates. After a quiet tractor ride into the orchard, he proposed tucked away between the rows, followed by a celebration with their closest family and friends waiting back at home.
Now they are preparing for their wedding day. With a shared love for the ocean, they’ve envisioned a coastal, romantic celebration that is filled with intention and the people they love most.
Amelia and Chris, I truly adore you both. Your kindness, your joy, and the way you love each other and everyone around you does not go unnoticed. Being part of this chapter with you has been such a gift, and I cannot wait to see everything come together on your wedding day at Wychmere Beach Club.
