Timeless Beach Engagement

I had the honor of capturing Kara and Pat’s Timeless Beach Engagement session in Beverly, MA. We had a blast walking the shoreline and capturing their romantic engagement portraits. Their session was perfect from beginning to end with their contagious smiles, beautiful scenery, and overflow of love.

Kara and Pat booked me last minute after finding out that their dream wedding venue, The State Room, had their ideal wedding date available, October 1st, 2022! This date is significant because October 1st is the anniversary of their first date together! Kara and Pat are so excited to be planning their wedding on the anniversary of the day that started it all! The couple both felt that the date was meant to be even though it makes for a fast engagement. Kara and Pat describe themselves as city people who spend the majority of their time in Boston and “are so excited to celebrate where we first met, fell in love and lived together. Boston is the best!”

The State Room | An Elegant Boston Wedding Venue

I would have to agree with them there, Boston is the best! The State Room where the couple will be married in a few short weeks, is a stunning Boston venue with epic city views from the large windows around the event space. The views are one thing that drew the couple to this venue. They love the city and “are hoping to create a chic modern minimalist city wedding.”

Both Pat and Kara love pictures and cherish the timeless memories they create. I love that they both know the value of these priceless images. Looking back through these stunning beach engagement portraits, and soon their wedding album, they will instantly be transported back to that moment and remember how they felt and all details from that memory or season of life. It brings me endless joy to hear how much they value pictures and knowing that they truly will treasure them forever.

Kara + Pat’s Love Story

The pair met on the dating app, Hinge. While on their first date they had an instant connection! Both Kara and Pat recall how the conversation flowed effortlessly as they discovered many things they had in common. Kara recalls that, “it seemed like we had known each other for our whole life.”

From that point on, the couple were inseparable! Throughout their courtship they had so much fun together trying new restaurants, attending sporting events and movies, and also traveling to the Cape, Maine, and Miami.

The Proposal

Pat proposed to Kara in March of this year! He pulled off the biggest surprise to unsuspecting Kara, proposing to her in the North End, the spot of their first date/kiss. He also coordinated a brunch afterwards to celebrate with their families and drinks with friends after at their favorite spot, Monument. What an incredibly romantic and thoughtful proposal!

While getting to know more about Pat and Kara, I asked them when they knew they had found the one and this is what they shared:

Patrick shared that he knew Kara was the one after their first Thanksgiving together. Pat had Covid which put a stop to their holiday plans to go home to their families. Instead they had a small Thanksgiving with Pat’s roommate and girlfriend. Thanksgiving is Pat’s favorite holiday and he knew after they shared their first Thanksgiving dinner together that he wanted to spend every Thanksgiving together.

Kara knew instantly! She remembers calling her best friend after their first date declaring he was the one! Kara admitted that while it sounds crazy, the butterflies were real and she was smitten from very early on, stating “I hadn’t felt that way with anyone after first meeting, so I knew it was special and real.”

Kara and Pat are positively adorable! I had the best time walking the beach and getting to know them as I captured their timeless beach engagement portraits. I know their State Room Wedding will be a night to remember and I can’t hardly wait to celebrate with them on their special day!
