Lani and Al’s Rhode Island engagement session was a dream! We went to a beautiful area in Rhode Island that featured well maintained lawns with beautiful landscaping next to a historic building. The rows of steps leading up to the grand building provided a lovely spot for the couple to sit together. I had the best time exploring the area and capturing Lani and AL’s engagement session. They both truly value photography and the lifelong memories that are created from these images. It makes my heart so happy when client’s understand the value of photography and cherish the timeless images.
Rhode Island Engagement Session
Both Lani and Al did a phenomenal job following my style guide! Lani wore a lovely white flowy dress that featured wispy coral flowers. She looked gorgeous! Al’s navy blue suit complemented her dress wonderfully. While capturing their session, we chatted about how they met, as I love hearing my clients’ love stories!
The Surprise Proposal
They first met through mutual friends, but it took awhile for them to actually start dating. After finally going out on their first date, the quickly became inseparable and the rest is history! The couple got engaged over Christmas last year when Al and other close friends threw Lani a surprise birthday dinner on December 26th at Basta Italian Restaurant in the roads on Pawtuxet in Warwick. As the waitress brought out Lani’s birthday dessert to the table, Al knelt down on one knee, opened the box, and proposed, not realizing that the waitress put the ring in the middle of the poinsettia flower! Lani was so surprised; she definitely didn’t see it coming!
How did you know each other was the one?
“Al makes me feel genuinely calm, comfortable and relaxed. Being loved by him, I finally found my best friend, someone I can always rely on and trust, my confidante. He’s always the person I can’t wait to talk to and spend my time with.”– Lani
“I was in a marriage that failed so it took me a long time to find someone to trust and love. But after finding Lani, we were able to build that trust together. She was very patient and she sacrificed a lot to be with me. I appreciate all the love she has put into making me and my kids happier.”– Al
As they shared their story with me, it was clear how perfect they are for one another. I loved seeing their love shine through their images in the way they looked at one another and interacted. I know their upcoming wedding at The Spa at Norwich Inn will be just as magical as their Rhode Island Engagement.
