There is just something about beach weddings that is extra dreamy and romantic. The soft ocean breeze coming in off the waves and the epic water views adds an extra layer of enchantment to any wedding day. Emily and Tom’s Newport Beach House wedding was made even more special by the most gorgeous (and one of the only!) sunsets of the summer! The summer season was unusually rainy, which means I didn’t photograph too many sunset wedding portraits, but for Emily and Tom, the sun was putting on a show, making up for all those missed sunsets. My jaw hit the sand when I saw this amazing light for their sunset portraits!
Newport Beach House Wedding
Their day was effortlessly calm, romantic, and full of smiles and laughs. Emily and Tom were wonderful! They thoroughly enjoyed their day and made sure to enjoy every second and not let moments pass by. I have had the joy of knowing Emily and Tom for a while now, as I photographed their South Boston Engagement Session last year. I also captured Tom’s sister’s wedding a couple years ago. Having met Tom’s family once before, at Jill and Ryan’s Boston Marriott Long Wharf Wedding, it was so special to be able to photograph again with this family!
Emily and Tom couldn’t have chosen a more gorgeous wedding venue. While Newport, RI is home to some noteworthy wedding venues, The Newport Beach House is one of the top tier venues in the area. This Longwood Venue sits on Newport’s most famous beach and is the only private venue in Newport for luxury weddings.
After tying the knot on the beach, all the guests made their way inside the light and airy event space. The wall of windows allowed for tons of natural light to fill the room and stunning coastline views. Emily and Tom’s soft color palette of white and dusty blue elevated the event space adding to the modern, coastal charm.
Sunset Portraits
While everyone enjoyed cocktails, the newlyweds and I took our time on the beach capturing their sunset portraits. I typically try to move through portraits quickly, as I know couples want to get back to their guests and the reception; however, due to the breathtaking sunset that awaited us down by the water, Emily and Tom were more than happy to take as much time taking sunset portraits as the sunset allowed! All of their guests watched from the deck overlooking the water.
Emily and Tom had the perfect Newport wedding! I am still thinking about this magical day, and will be for a while. It was such a joy to capture all their special wedding day memories. I have loved my time with this amazing couple and their family over the years. It has been such an honor! Cheers to you both, Emily and Tom!
