When it comes to popping the question, some people go above and beyond to create a truly memorable moment. Such was the case for Rachael and Zach’s surprise proposal in Boston. This proposal was beautifully planned and executed by the groom-to-be, Zach, and his mom! From the stunning city skyline to the carefully planned details, this surprise proposal was a true showstopper.

Zach’s mom initially reached out to help out a plan in place for Zach to propose to Rachael. Rachael and Zach live in an amazing apartment in downtown Boston with beautiful city views. We crafted a plan to get Rachael up to the apartment in the early afternoon to hang out with Zach. As she opened the door, Zach was standing there with a gorgeous floral setting and family from both sides there waiting for them! Rachael was totally shocked!! Her expressions and reactions were priceless!

Romantic Surprise Proposal in Boston

Zach dropped to one knee on the balcony of their apartment surrounded by white florals with the skyline in the distance and asked Rachael to be his wife. Through her happy tears, she said “YES!”

After celebrating this moment, Rachael took a moment to facetime her friends to tell them the exciting news! They then changed into different outfits as they wanted to capture images of just the two of them, along with their dog by the Boston Harbor. We did a combination of photos on their balcony with the beautiful cityscape, a few of them cozied up on their couch with Rachael in her new, white Bride-to-be sweatshirt, and then finished down by the harbor. Their portraits are so gorgeous, as their love and excitement was contagious and evident in every photo!

Celebratory Surprise Dinner

After their photoshoot, their families planned a celebratory, surprise dinner in the Seaport area at Mooo with amazing decorations! The light up “I ❤️ U” sign was my favorite detail! However, I was blown away by all the details! Zach’s mom did an amazing job planning and putting together everything! The entire family also stepped in and went the extra mile to make sure this was special for Rachael! They even picked out her outfits for the events immediately following the proposal, which were all white and perfect for this new bride-to-be!

It is such an honor to capture these magical moments for my clients! As a surprise proposal photographer in Boston I have the opportunity to capture these perfectly orchestrated, joyous events. The resulting photographs perfectly capture the emotion and excitement of the special occasion, and serve as a beautiful reminder of the love that brought them people together.
