There are few things that feel more quintessentially Boston in the spring than the magnolia trees in bloom. For about a week each spring, these gorgeous trees burst into soft, romantic blooms, transforming parts of Boston into the most beautiful backdrop for engagement photos. When Stephanie and Patrick reached out about capturing their spring engagement session among the magnolia blooms in Boston’s Back Bay area, I knew we had to make the most of the timing. Thankfully, we happened to catch them at exactly the right moment.
Spring Magnolia Engagement Photos in Boston
These two are the sweetest, and I loved that their session was about more than just their upcoming wedding. They brought their adorable son along, giving us the opportunity to document a little bit of their family life alongside their engagement photos. It was such a beautiful session, and not just because the flowers were creating the most romantic backdrop. These two share so much love, and then to see them with their son on top of it, was just the icing on the cake. I loved being able to see their connection to each other as well as their son. I know they are beyond excited about their next chapter together.
If you are looking to capture a Back Bay Engagement Session with the Magnolia blooms, you’ll have to keep an eye on the trees to plan for the time to capture them in full bloom, as it can vary. Spring provides so many beautiful options throughout the city, from the magnolia trees of Back Bay to the flowering landscapes of the Public Garden and downtown areas. However, Boston’s Back Bay is one of my favorite places to photograph couples because it offers such a beautiful combination of city and nature. You can walk just a few blocks and move between historic brownstones, elegant streets, flowering trees, and lush green spaces. It gives an engagement session a sense of variety without requiring you to travel all over the city.
Stephanie and Patrick, thank you for trusting me to document this season for your family. I loved getting to spend this time with you, and I’m so grateful we were able to capture the spring magnolias in full bloom.
