I had the joy of capturing this intimate Misselwood Events wedding on the North Shore in Beverly, Massachusetts. With its ocean front location this stunning venue provides expansive views of the Atlantic Ocean. The historic estate and meticulously landscaped grounds along with the oceanfront ceremony location and reception space, gives couples so many beautiful spaces to experience throughout their wedding day. For this celebration, the couple leaned completely into that coastal setting while bringing in a fresh, romantic Italian-summer vibe by using soft yellows, dusty blue colors alongside crisp white florals, lemons, and glowing string lights.
Oceanview Wedding Ceremony
One of the biggest perks of Misselwood Events at Endicott College is the opportunity to say “I do” with the ocean directly behind you. The couple took full advantage of the space, hosting their ceremony on the lawn overlooking the water, which was framed by a stunning floral arch filled with white roses and delicate baby’s breath. The simplicity of the white florals against the natural beauty felt incredibly timeless. More than that though was the couple themselves. They were so genuinely happy throughout the entire day, and that joy was contagious. I loved capturing them around the gorgeous property and taking in the grand exterior of Misslewood as well as the coastal views.
Al Fresco Reception With Ocean Views
The couple opted for an al fresco-inspired reception on the patio beneath strings of lights, creating an atmosphere that felt like an elegant summer dinner overlooking the coast. Ocean views were visible from all angles, but my favorite was being able to sit at the reception table, look up, and see the water peeking through the trees. It was not only beautiful, but incredibly relaxing.
Italian-Inspired Summer Wedding
One of the most memorable design elements was the couple’s use of lemons throughout the wedding. The lemons were a nod to the fresh, carefree feeling of an Italian summer and became a recurring detail throughout the celebration. Actual lemons decorated the bar and reception tables, adding a pop of color to the design.
The couple also had custom iced cookies by XO Custom Cookies designed to look like whole lemons and lemon slices for dessert. I love when a couple takes a theme and incorporates it in ways that are intentional. Here, the lemons worked beautifully with the rest of the palette, bringing together the light yellows, dusty blues, and whites while reinforcing the relaxed summer atmosphere. The entire design felt like a coastal New England interpretation of an Italian summer dinner party.
Rounding out the summer Italian theme, a large light up sign that read “Ti Amo”, meaning love in Italian, decorated the lawn. It made for the perfect photo backdrop throughout the evening. This stunning wedding couldn’t have been more perfect.
A Dream Vendor Team
A beautiful wedding like this doesn’t happen without an incredible team of vendors working behind the scenes. I loved collaborating with Events by Elise on the planning and design of this celebration. Every part of the day felt intentional and cohesive, and the overall aesthetic came together so beautifully. The floral design by Boston Lets Party was especially lovely, from the romantic white ceremony arch to the florals incorporated throughout the reception. Each talented vendor had a hand in making this celebration truly remarkable and memorable.
Not to mention, Misselwood Events was the perfect setting for the couple’s wedding day vision to unfold. The natural beauty of the North Shore remained an important part of the celebration while still giving them plenty of opportunities to bring their personalities and vision into the design.
As a North Shore wedding photographer, this is such a beautiful wedding venue to host a summer celebration like this one.
