Tomoya and Mao are one of the many couples whose wedding day was affected by the pandemic. While they still married during covid, they kept their wedding small and were married at City Hall. Due to the circumstances at the time, they weren’t able to have any wedding portraits together. Thankfully, they decided to remedy that by getting all dressed up so I could capture the two of them together for their stunning MIT wedding session!
These two were friends first before dating and getting married, which makes their relationship and their marriage even more special. I am so glad this amazing couple made their wedding pictures a priority. Even though their actual wedding day didn’t get captured the way they planned, they still made sure their wedding day was represented and remembered through these beautiful images. Having mementos from such a big, celebratory life moment is crucial! You’ll never regret having these memories to look back on and enjoy.
Stunning MIT Wedding Session
To start their session, we headed to Massachusetts Institute of Technology, or more commonly known as MIT, which is also the college Tomoya attends. MIT is gorgeous! I was blown away by the beauty. On top of the grand columns and impressive architecture, the lighting was perfect!
Tomoya and Mao planned a more formal session at MIT in their wedding attire, which fit the scenery perfectly! Mao revealed that she purchased her elegant wedding dress on Amazon for just $60! My mind was blown when she told me this! I had no idea amazon even sold wedding dresses. Also, only $60?! This gown was beautiful and Mao looked radiant! This is PROOF that the right location, a fantastic hair and makeup artist, a good steamer, and a photographer who knows how to capture high end images, can not only make a huge difference in image quality, but also make a $60 wedding dress look designer!
For the second part of their wedding session we went to Back Bay. There the newlyweds enjoyed a more casual setting and look! The fall colors decorated the street as Tomoya and Mao laughed together in their cozy, fall outfits. I had so much fun exploring both MIT and Back Bay with this amazing couple. Their gorgeous MIT Wedding Session was the perfect way to capture old memories and make some new ones. Tomoya and Mao, congratulations to you both and I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!
