Halee and Derek’s dreamy Shining Tides wedding on the Mattapoisett Harbor was perfect in every way! Their wedding weekend kicked off with a fun welcome party at their wedding venue. For their welcome party they featured an amazing, classic “Cape Cod inspired” lobster bake. It was such an honor to photograph this fun event in addition to their wedding day, as I absolutely LOVE doing these! It’s such a fun way to kick off the weekend and really get to know the family and other guests. Plus, who doesn’t love more time for photos? Photographing their welcome party also allowed me to spend more time with Halee and Derek, who I just love!
Halee and Derek are the sweetest couple! Halee booked me pretty far in advance for their wedding. I was seriously beyond happy when she did, as she and I instantly clicked, and I knew that this was going to be one of my favorite weddings of the year. Halee had such a classy, elevated vision for her wedding day. Their intimate wedding day was focused on them, celebrating their love, and spending time with family and friends. They opted to not have a wedding party to keep the focus on them. This made their wedding day so easy, as there was less coordinating, and much more time for wedding portraits!
Dreamy Shining Tides Wedding on the Mattapoisett Harbor
Their dreamy wedding took place outside on the lawn facing the gorgeous shores of Mattapoisett Harbor. The weather was beautiful with sunny, blue skies overhead and lots of boats out on the water. Halee and Derek’s adorable dogs were also a part of their wedding day, getting ready with Derek and walking down the aisle to witness the ceremony. Their dogs are not only their babies, they are the reason Halee and Derek are together! The pair met at a dog park while they were walking their own dogs. If that isn’t fate, I don’t know what is!
After exchanging vows, everyone gathered on the lawn for cocktail hour while I captured the newlywed’s romantic wedding portraits by the water. This wedding venue really has everything you could want in a waterfront property. Between the stunning views, direct access to the beach, and the elegant beach house, it’s easy to see why this is a premier wedding venue in the area. The timeless wedding details only enhanced the beauty of this event space. Lush, white floral arrangements with a balanced amount of greenery decorated the reception space. My favorite was the sweetheart table which was enveloped in the most gorgeous florals.
The couple ended their beautiful wedding weekend dancing and celebrating with those closest to them. Seeing them smile and laugh together throughout the evening was heartwarming, as you could see the love between them bubbling up. There is no doubt that these two were made for each other!
