There is nothing better than meeting couples and instantly clicking. I have had the joy of meeting several couples over the years that left a lasting impression, and Alex and Nick are one of those couples. They are incredibly sweet and personable. Needless to say, I really enjoyed our time together capturing their sunset engagement at Nantasket Beach, a beautiful beach that is a favorite spot of mine in Hull, MA.
Sunset Engagement at Nantasket Beach
These two are getting married on the water at Bristol Harbor Inn in Rhode Island. Since their wedding will be on the water, we wanted to continue that theme for their engagement session. Alex loves being by the water, having spent many of her summers by the water in Cape Cod. Their dreamy engagement was the perfect prelude to their coastal wedding. Alex and Nick had so much fun during their session that I barely had to tell them what to do. They even dipped their toes into the ocean waves and kicked up some water.
Their love for one another was so genuine. It was heartwarming to watch them together. As we strolled the beach capturing their beautiful engagement photos, we were blessed with the most gorgeous golden hour light. I love when everything comes together to create a magical session like this one.
Alex and Nick’s Story
Nick and Alex met through a mutual friend back in May of 2014. Alex was home for the summer from her freshman year at college and they continued to talk and see each other throughout the summer. When Alex returned to school that fall, Nick began visiting her at school on the weekends. That December, they made it official, continuing their long distance relationship from 2014 through 2018.
The entire time, Nick continued to visit her at school on the weekends, or she would return home for a weekend. Once Alex graduated in the summer of 2018, they could finally be together! They began building their first home together in early 2020, and moved in November 2021. They have already made countless memories in their home together and are incredibly excited to continue making memories together as husband and wife.
A NYC Proposal
Nick’s dad is a manager at a hotel in New York and was able to secure rooms in December so Alex, Nick, and his family could visit the iconic Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center. They traveled into the city and spent the day exploring all the Christmas “touristy” spots before heading to the Rockefeller Center around sunset. They made their way to the front of the barriers to get as close as possible to the tree for photos, with Nick and Alex trailing behind the group.
In the chaos of all the people around, Alex didn’t even realize Nick was getting down on one knee. Once Alex realized what was happening, she instantly started crying. Afterwards they shared a private moment together at the tree before escaping back to the outskirts of the tree where it wasn’t as crowded. There, Nick’s sister surprised them with two flutes and champagne and they had their own little celebration right there in NYC!
Alex and Nick’s love story is inspiring. I just love their love and am so thrilled at the opportunity to capture this next chapter in their lives! Congratulations!
