Courtney, Scott, and I had a wonderful time together shooting their downtown Boston engagement session. First off, Courtney and Scott are adorable together! They are so sweet and I loved capturing their love through little glances at each other or in a candid shot of them laughing together. Their love for each other was evident throughout our session together. I so enjoyed getting to know them and learning more about their love story! 

Downtown Boston Engagement Session

Their downtown Boston engagement took us to a few of my favorite spots around town. I love walking through the streets of downtown and capturing the romantic architecture of some of the buildings in the background. Not far from there are more streets lined with blossoming trees and flower lined sidewalks. I love that we can have so much variety in scenery in one area! The blooming trees combined with that sunlight made it a photographer’s dream! Not far from there is Fan Pier Park, where we shot some beautiful photos on the stone walkway near the water! I love the Boston skyline in the background and the scenic waterfront. This spot is a local favorite of mine! On top of that, the golden glow from the setting sun over the water was stunning! I loved seeing the sunlight stream in around the couple as I photographed them. 

Their Love Story

Courtney and Scott met in a PrepMD class after being assigned seats next to one another! It didn’t take long for their relationship to start and they’ve been inseparable ever since! Talk about fate!   When I asked about how Scott proposed, Courtney lovingly recalled that, “he combined our love for hiking, exploring and traveling into the best proposal and I wouldn’t change a single thing.” 

The Proposal

They were traveling to Puerto Rico where they planned to explore El Yunque National Rainforest. There they planned to hike to a beautiful waterfall named Juan Diego falls. They had their GoPro setup to capture their hike and findings along the way. Once they reached the falls, Courtney was taking in the beauty when before she knew Scott was pulling out a ring from his pocket! Their proposal is not only incredibly romantic but also so unique to them and their relationship! Courtney and Scott love to spend time traveling, hiking, exploring new places, so this really was the perfect proposal!  

When I asked them how they knew they had found the one, they had one of the best answers I’ve ever received! They said, “When you know, you know! We’ve been sitting here trying to put it into words and we honestly can’t. We just knew. We’ve been stuck like glue since day one.” I love this so much and it really speaks so much about them and their love for one another. I am so excited to watch their love story unfold when I photograph their wedding at Wychmere Beach Club in Cape Cod!
