Elevated Coastal Maine Wedding | New England Wedding Photographer

Epic, amazing, swoon worthy: these are all adjectives that describe Lauren and Jared’s elevated coastal Maine Wedding at ViewPoint Hotel and that still wouldn’t do it justice. Their entire wedding day was beyond incredible, even with the nonstop rain and torrential downpours. (seriously, it was the rainiest day of my career!) Lauren and Jared had the best attitudes about it all and never once let it put a damper on their big day. Instead they focused on what was most important, them and this moment. Their elegant wedding day consisted of what really matters – countless laughs, so much love, and a celebration of one of the sweetest couples I have ever met.

Wedding Details

For their special day and with all my weddings, I focused on storytelling. I make sure to capture every big and small moment, and all those special in between moments that occur throughout the day. The elevated coastal theme of the wedding features lobsters and lighthouses that highlighted classic Maine themes, but was set apart from typical nautical themes. I fell in love with all the details, which were incredibly important to the couple. From hand painted, Maine inspired, coastal invitations to the custom newspapers printed for them to read as they readied, all the way down to the little lobsters on Lauren’s nails, each detail was carefully planned and executed.

It comes as no surprise that their wedding was meticulously planned and curated with so many amazing details, as I captured Lauren’s dreamy Danversport bridal shower and I was blown away by all the thoughtful details and planning. Lauren is basically my future decor and fashion icon! Before capturing their bridal shower, they hired me a few months prior. Upon meeting them, we realized that Jared and I had met before during freshman year of college, as we lived in the same dorm. It was really cool once we made the connection that Jared knew me! I couldn’t be happier that I had the opportunity to work with this sweet couple, documenting their love story!

Elevated Coastal Maine Wedding at ViewPoint Hotel

Lauren and Jared chose this stunning Maine venue in the city of York, as they both love the water and always knew they wanted to have a coastal Maine wedding. Lauren, who grew up visiting York, Maine, has always loved this spot. As they toured different coastal venues, they fell in love with Viewpoint Hotel, and it is easy to see why! Even though the rain prevented them from having their oceanfront wedding ceremony they originally envisioned, it was still a fairytale moment under a gorgeous tent.

Belmont Flower Shop completely transformed the space with the most amazing florals ever! Huge white roses and blue hydrangeas mixed with smaller blooms and greenery lined the front of the ceremony space where the couple stood creating an enchanting, romantic vibe. Then there was Lauren’s bridal bouquet, which was one of the most amazing bouquets I’ve ever seen! Weighing in at 9 lbs, it was the perfect, elegant bouquet with light hued flowers and pops of tropical green leaves that gave off a coastal vibe.

After exchanging vows and making it official, we headed outside the tent to capture their wedding portraits. We couldn’t let a little rain stop us from getting their oceanfront wedding photos. Armed with clear umbrellas, the newlyweds walked along the rocky coast with waves crashing in the background. The images are absolutely perfect!

The Wedding Reception

Back in the reception tent, more white and dusty blue floral arrangements elevated the space. A half wall of flowers surrounded the bar area, where drinks were on Titan, their sweet pup! Lauren and Jared love their dog, Titan and made sure to include him in a few details throughout the day. However, Lauren’s groom cake, which was an exact replica of Titan, might take the cake as the best!

Their wedding cake was stunning with a white and blue ombre design and speckles of gold, and of course, two lobster cake toppers!

Lauren and Jared’s wedding was unforgettable! It was incredible watching Lauren’s vision come to life throughout the entire day, not to mention the amazing vendors who all made it happen despite the rain! I am so thankful that I was able to spend the day with these two capturing their gorgeous coastal, Maine wedding. It was a dream from beginning to end! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Smith!
