Nestled in the hillside of the small town of Sintra, Portugal resides the beautiful Casa de Paderna, a home and venue that has been passed down and beautifully maintained for generations. This hidden gem was the location of Liana & Will’s stunning, intimate Portugal wedding. The couple met in middle school and have been inseparable since. As adults, traveling has always been a huge part of their relationship and something very important to them. As a result of their love for traveling, they decided to marry at one of their favorite locations that best represented them – Sintra, Portugal.
Their intimate wedding weekend consisted of them and four guests. They started their wedding weekend out with traveling around Lisbon, seeing the beautiful sites, and eating the delicious, local cuisine. Finally, it was time for their wedding day! The forecast on the day of their wedding called for a 100% chance of rain. Miraculously, Liana and Will were able to dodge the raindrops and create the wedding portraits of their dreams.
Intimate Portugal Wedding at Casa de Paderna
Sintra was still lusciously green with the most picturesque scenery. Throughout their wedding day we made sure to take advantage of the breathtaking scenery that was available at every turn. The natural beauty of Sintra is truly mesmerizing!
Liana & Will’s first look brought Will to tears – he was speechless and overcome with such emotion, and he could not keep his eyes off of Liana. It was such a moving moment! After their emotional first look, the ceremony began, which was led by Liana’s mother, one of the four guests in attendance. Liana and Will exchanged intimate hand written vows as well as many tears. Loose dried lavender was wrapped and placed in pages of Liana & Will’s favorite books and given to the guests. As the couple exited the ceremony, they were showered with the lavender. I loved this personal touch that was so unique and meaningful.
After their intimate ceremony, the evening concluded with a local well-renowned personal chef who created a custom four course meal for the couple and their guests. Elegant and romantic lilac purple and white flowers decorated the tables matching Liana beautiful wedding bouquet. It was incredible and the perfect way to end their romantic, intimate wedding day.
