Picking a wedding venue is one of the first important decisions couples make! Many of the other decisions that must be made regarding your wedding plans center around your venue and whether or not certain amenities are available or included. When it comes to stunning, high-end, amazing venues, the area in and around Boston, MA has plenty of options! In Part 1 of this blog series, I am going to share my Top 10 Massachusetts Wedding Venues! You can find links to all of these venues at the bottom of this blog post.
01. Liberty Hotel
This stunning hotel is a luxurious wedding venue! They have options to accommodate whatever you have pictured for your big day, including a stunning private garden, perfect for romantic, outdoor garden wedding, and an elegant ballroom for up to 200 guests is perfect for dancing the night away with your wedding guests!
02. State Room
The State Room: A Longwood Venue offers four rooms to choose from, and each can accommodate a large guest list, upwards of 900! What I love most about the State Room is that it sits in the heart of Boston and offers spectacular views of the Boston city skyline! With floor to ceiling windows, you and your guests will get a panoramic view of the cityscape! It isn’t everyday that I can get the couple, their guests, and a view of downtown all in one shot!
03. Willowdale Estate
Sitting just outside of Boston is number three on my list of Top 10 Massachusetts wedding venues is Willowdale Estate in Topsfield, MA. They offer both indoor and outdoor weddings, featuring their tent season during the months of May-October, and their indoor mansion season during November-April. The outdoor tent season is better suited for larger weddings, and the indoor mansion setting is lovely for a more intimate vibe! The mansion itself has a warm, rustic feel, mixed with its grandeur and elegance. Willowdale Estate has endless amenities and a full-service approach to their wedding offerings. This gorgeous venue with its country feel provides stunning views and landscapes for you to choose from for your big day!
04. Shining Tides
Shining Tides is a dream wedding venue. There is nothing more romantic than a beach wedding ceremony. At Shining Tides, you can have your wedding ceremony right next to the water on the Mattapoisett Harbor. You can rent a tent for a fantastic outdoor wedding experience or have a little more shelter and host a beautiful porch reception which accommodates up to 200 guests. You will also have access to the breathtaking landscapes that are sure to provide epic wedding photos!
05. Lyman Estate
If you are looking for a country escape with gardens and a private, picturesque setting, Lyman Estate in Waltham, MA checks all the boxes! This historic landmark is also known as “the Vale.”
This thirty-seven acre property is the perfect spot for your dreamy, outdoor wedding. With meticulous and jaw-dropping gardens and lovely greenhouses, there is something for everyone! In addition, there are five wonderful indoor spaces to choose from as well, like the grand ballroom! The website for Lyman Estates notes that it was that very ballroom where the waltz was first introduced to Boston society! One thing is for certain, you and your wedding guests will definitely enjoy the elegant setting the Lyman Estates has to offer.
06. Waverly Oaks Golf Club
Number 6 on my top 10 Massachusetts wedding venues is a show stopper! The Waverly Oaks Golf Club sits on 225 acres of beauty! They also offer both indoor and outdoor wedding options. The grounds are perfect for an outdoor wedding with views of the award winning golf course. Inside their Grand Ballroom you will find floor-to-ceiling windows and 360 degree views of the golf course.
The grand ballroom also gives way to the enclosed verandah that wraps around and allows for additional guest accommodations. In addition, Waverly Oaks Golf Club also has the Oak room, which provides a more intimate setting for those weddings with 80 guests or less. With beautiful views wherever you turn, this wedding venue does not disappoint!
07. Cruiseport Gloucester
In MA, we have access to venues with truly epic waterfront views. The Cruiseport Gloucester is one of those wedding venues! It sits north of Boston in Cape Ann, MA. The grand ballroom, which features breathtaking seaside views out of their wall-to-wall windows, allows for 100-320 guests. The sparkling chandeliers, waterfront views, and luxurious feel are sure to amaze your guests.
08. Beauport Hotel Gloucester
Beauport Hotel Gloucester is known as a Luxury Oceanfront Getaway! This high end venue sits right on the water on the North Shore of Boston. Here you will enjoy both gorgeous ocean views, as well as views of the city. The lush event spaces, both indoor and outdoor, offer spectacular views and create the perfect backdrop for any wedding! With the beach nearby, it is easy to access and sneak away for a few romantic newlywed photos on the beach. Most days you will catch a captivating sunset as the sun goes down over the Atlantic Ocean. You can’t go wrong!
09. Gardens at Elm Bank
The Gardens at Elm Bank is a stunning wedding venue providing charming, impressive gardens perfect for that dreamy garden wedding. The open fields, perfectly maintained landscapes, and colorful gardens are the perfect setting for your big day. Upon stepping foot on the 36-acre property, you and your guests will be transported to a tranquil, relaxing atmosphere. Anyone considering an outdoor wedding should look into this beautiful garden wedding venue!
10. Tupper Manor
Last but not least on my list of Top 10 Massachusetts Wedding Venues is Tupper Manor. This coastal wedding venue is located in Beverly, MA. The charming estate offers both historic charm and elegance! You can choose to have your ceremony outside near the amazing water fountain or on their private beach with an ocean breeze rolling in off the waves. Tupper Manor provides an elegant and impressive indoor wedding space as well. The mansion is equipped with all modern day conveniences and ready for you to make it your own for your special day!
I know it might seem impossible to choose from so many amazing venues, as each one has something slightly different to offer. While I know this is a big decision to make, I hope this list helps point you in the right direction. Whether you are looking for a downtown venue with city views, a charming, country feel, a romantic garden setting, or somewhere where you can walk barefoot on the beach, Massachusetts has a little bit of everything to offer!
