At-Home Surprise Christmas Proposal in Rhode Island

Some proposals are beautiful because of their grand gestures, but others are unforgettable because of their intimacy and meaning. This at-Home surprise Christmas proposal in Rhode Island was romantic, personal, and filled with so much love. The surprise proposal took place in Carissa and Anthony’s brand-new Rhode Island home.

This proposal was especially close to my heart because Carissa isn’t just any bride-to-be. She’s a dear friend and incredibly talented wedding planner and designer. Carissa owns Carissa Corsi Events, a full-service wedding planning and design company serving New England and Italy! When Anthony reached out to me months in advance to plan the perfect surprise for her, I knew this would be something truly special.

Planning the Perfect Proposal

Anthony spent over six months planning every detail, wanting the moment to be absolutely perfect. We went through several ideas and backup plans, but we knew the perfect setting would be their brand-new home, a place that already symbolized the beginning of their next chapter together.

Carissa had decorated their living room beautifully for Christmas. I absolutely loved the elegant feel of their Christmas tree and all cozy holiday touches that made everything feel warm. Carissa knew I was coming over to take some photos of the two of them, so we went outside to take some portraits of them like I would normally do.

At-Home Surprise Christmas Proposal in Rhode Island

While we were out back, the talented videographer, Rebecca Drouin, quietly snuck into the house to set up and be ready for the big moment. As Carissa and I wrapped up portraits, we headed back inside. There in the beauty of their home by the fireplace, Anthony got down on one knee. The look on her face said it all. Her reaction was pure joy and surprise, and we were able to capture every second on both photo and video. It was emotional, heartfelt, and so full of genuine happiness.

After the proposal, we took more photos of the newly engaged couple outside and in the cozy corners of their home. We also included their adorable two fur babies! To end the evening, Carissa and Anthony enjoyed a celebratory champagne toast on the back porch, which was the perfect ending to this sweet proposal.
